Khaled Alwarea (b. 1988, Damascus) is a Syrian architect and multidisciplinary artist based in Marseille, France. His practice fluidly blends architecture, visual art, film, and digital media into a unified artistic language, viewing disciplines as tools to express the complexities of human experience.

Rooted in his personal journey from Damascus to Marseille, his work explores themes of identity, displacement, and collective memory. As co-founder and creative director of UV LAB, he has transformed public spaces into immersive environments across Europe and Asia. Notable projects include the monumental "LE KRAKEN" at Les SUBS in Lyon, which was awarded the Mondes Nouveaux grant from the French Ministry of Culture.

His experimental film "Panic Attack" received international recognition, earning the Merit Award at the Awareness Film Festival in Los Angeles. The film has been screened at festivals and venues worldwide, including the Oaxaca FilmFest in Mexico and the Scandinavian International Film Festival in Finland.

He created scenography for several performances, such as "Disparu·e·s" and "Les Murs Parlent" by Judith Depaule, "Habitus" by Nidal Abdo, "Rupture" by Maryam Samaan, "Self-Entitlement" by Mahmoud Elhaddad, and "On Marche Sur des Œufs" by Ayoub Moumen.

Through the ongoing project "Syria's Queer Memory," Khaled archives and preserves the hidden histories of the Syrian LGBTQ+ community, shedding light on narratives of resilience and identity. This work has been supported by a Production Grant from Ettijahat – Independent Culture.

His contributions have been honored with awards such as the Marie-Thérèse Alli production award for "Without Interpretation: About Autohomophobia and Other Insecurities," exhibited at Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. His photography has been exhibited and featured globally, winning an Honorable Mention from the Monovisions Awards in London, UK.

Khaled's multidisciplinary approach is his strength, weaving together diverse mediums to create interconnected works that invite reflection on our shared experience.
